Tales From A Cookbook Junkie: Bentley Farm

Cookbook, Circa 1974
Recipes compiled by
Virginia William Bentley                    Danville,

This is one of my all-time favorite little cookbooks. If you are lucky enough to find a copy of this out of print cookbook buy it!!   It is an eclectic collection of passed down recipes with stories that are relatively easy to prepare comfort foods.  You will have to throw the calorie counter out the window when making recipes from this serendipitous Attic Treasure Table find!

Boston Baked Beans (from scratch)

Fiddleheads (how to gather & cook)

Glorified Oatmeal Cookies

Millie Lyon’s Mashed Poratoes (which is really a great recipe of half potatoes and half white turnips)

Martha’s Company Casserole

Noodles Alfredo (from the original Alfredo’s in Rome

Poulet Chasseur  (great chicken dish!!)

Shrimp Newburg

Yale Club Cocktail Dip
